That same hands-on, old-school approach carries straight into this Jazz Bass style bridge pickup.
This single-coil is voiced to chase the sound of a late-50s/early-60s Jazz Bass — that punchy, articulate bite players associate with the golden era of the instrument. On its own, the bridge unit delivers a brighter, more cutting voice than a neck pickup; blend it with a matching Van Zandt neck pickup and dial both in around the center position, and you get the classic scooped-yet-thumpy combination — clear top end riding over solid low-end punch.
