Description
Van Zandt pickups come from a lineage that goes back to the early 1960s, when W.L. Van Zandt was already rewinding magnets for fellow players around Dallas/Ft. Worth. By the time he formally launched the company in the late ’80s, decades of hands-on repair work and a background as a machinist had shaped a very specific ear for what makes a Strat pickup feel right. That history is baked into the Vintage Plus line.
This particular pickup is the reverse wound / reverse polarity middle unit, designed to slot into the center position of your Stratocaster and cancel hum when combined with the neck or bridge pickup in the classic 2-and-4 switch positions. Tonally, it’s aimed squarely at the golden-era ’60s Strat voice – balanced across the highs, mids, and lows rather than skewed toward one end, giving you a pickup that stays useful across genres instead of locking you into one sound.
- Reverse wound, reverse polarity design for noise-canceling switch positions
- Tuned to capture vintage ’60s Stratocaster character
- Even response across highs, mids, and lows
- A strong drop-in replacement for American Standard Stratocasters
- Works well for country, blues, and rock playing styles
Pro Audio Land is an authorized Van Zandt dealer, and every pickup we carry ships new, wound and built by hand in Texas.
