Description
A stock Telecaster bridge single-coil is a beautiful thing, but it’s not built for pushing an amp into full saturation. That’s the gap Billy Gibbons and Seymour Duncan set out to close with the Red Devil for Tele — a humbucker that keeps the classic Tele footprint but trades twang for muscle.
The design traces back to Billy’s love of Seymour Duncan’s Pearly Gates PAF humbuckers, and you can hear that lineage the moment you dig in. Rather than a straight PAF clone, though, the Red Devil is voiced hotter: its Alnico V magnet is tuned to push saturation and breakup further than a typical vintage-style PAF, so you get that same harmonic complexity but with more shove behind it.
- Sized to drop into the bridge slot on most Telecaster guitars
- Vintage-inspired PAF voicing derived from the Pearly Gates humbucker
- High output for driving amps into crunch and sustain
- Alnico V magnet dialed in for aggressive saturation
- Great for cutting leads, pinch harmonics, and sizzling overdrive
If your Tele’s bridge pickup has never quite kept up with your gain stage, the Red Devil gives it the horsepower to run with humbucker-loaded guitars — without giving up the Tele’s shape or feel.
