Instead of the icy, thin edge some bridge singles suffer from, the 3X-S stays smooth and articulate, with a jazzy openness that holds up whether you’re playing clean chord work or pushing into overdrive.

Polarity matters here. This is the South Up (S) version, and Bartolini also offers a North Up (N) counterpart. If hum cancellation across your pickup set is a priority — and for a lot of players it is — you’ll want to mix polarities across your three-pickup setup: either North/South/North or South/North/South. Set it up right and you get the noise rejection benefits of humbucking without losing the single coil snap and sparkle that makes a Strat a Strat.
