The DP193BK Air Norton sits in the neck, using DiMarzio’s patented Air Norton magnetic structure to cut string pull, boost sustain, and open up dynamic range that most neck humbuckers can’t touch. It’s deep and hot, but never compressed, and it throws off harmonics you don’t usually get from a neck pickup. Try 500K pots if you want to push the treble and harmonic content even further.
In the bridge, the DP155BK Tone Zone takes over — a high-output pickup with surprisingly wide dynamics. Dig in and it roars; back off and it cleans up nicely. Patented dual-resonance coils give it huge low-mid weight and singing top-end sustain, so single notes carry depth and chords sound massive rather than shrill. Split-coil mode also unlocks a genuinely usable single-coil voice.
Together, this pairing delivers a balanced, medium-to-high output rig well suited to solid body and semi-hollow guitars, covering everything from warm blues-rock to thicker overdriven tones.
