DiMarzio’s Red Velvet was designed to close that gap, giving you a Stratocaster bridge pickup that can snarl like a classic single-coil but also push forward with some of that Tele-style shove.

A bottom-loaded plate helps deliver the punch, while a custom coil winding paired with a staggered True Velvet magnet keeps the sting and clarity intact. DiMarzio also hand-calibrated the magnet structure to bring out a distinctive growl in the middle position when combined with other pickups — this isn’t just a hotter Strat pickup, it’s voiced differently on purpose.
