Because Fluence pickups are built on active, multi-voice coil technology rather than traditional wire-winding, they sidestep the 60-cycle hum, RF noise, and coil inductance quirks that have haunted single-coils for decades – while still nailing the tone players chase Strats for in the first place.
Each pickup on this guard actually gives you two distinct personalities. Flip the voicing switch and you move from a glassy, vintage-flavored single-coil – the kind of sparkle and quack that defined the Strat sound – into a punchier, overwound Hot Texas single-coil voice with more grind and midrange muscle. That means one pickguard effectively covers a wider tonal range than a standard set, without ever introducing noise into the signal.
Since Fluence pickups are active, you’ll need to power them with a 9-volt battery or an optional battery pack – a small tradeoff for pickups that stay dead quiet at any gain level and respond with impressive clarity and dynamics.
