Description
Every acoustic player eventually hits that wall: crank the volume, and the guitar starts fighting back with feedback. Fishman built the Neo-Buster to solve exactly that problem, pairing their well-regarded Neo-D humbucking pickup with an integrated soundhole cover that keeps energy from building up inside the body in the first place.
Tonally, this is a magnetic soundhole pickup that leans warm and full while canceling hum and stray interference thanks to its humbucking coil design. It’s built around the same neodymium magnet structure found in Fishman’s celebrated Rare Earth pickup, which means even string-to-string balance and a clarity that doesn’t blur out under drive or effects. There’s no battery to worry about either — the low-profile, high-impedance design runs passive.
The real trick is the flexible elastomer surround acting as a feedback buster. It seals against the top of the guitar to tame the internal resonance that causes uncontrollable howling at high volumes, and it does so without reacting with most finishes or requiring any tools to fit. Just press it into place.
- Neodymium magnet structure for balanced strings and sparkling clarity
- Integrated feedback-buster surround for loud stage environments
- Low-profile, high-impedance design, no battery required
- Flexible elastomer construction won’t harm most guitar finishes
- Fits soundholes measuring 3-7/8″ (984mm) or 4″ (101.6mm) in diameter
- Tool-free installation on most standard flat-top acoustics
- Includes 10′ cable with 1/4″ output plug
If your acoustic-electric setup keeps threatening to feed back the moment you turn up, this is a straightforward, no-modification fix.
