Description
Joe Barden built the HB series for players chasing maximum sustain and clarity without the murky, over-saturated bark that plagues so many humbuckers. Whether you’re playing jazz chords, blues turnarounds, or riding into rock overdrive, the HB delivers a low end that stays tight and articulate rather than collapsing into mush.
The HBTT — Two/Tone — takes that foundation and doubles it. Functionally, it’s two pickups sharing one housing: leave it in full humbucker mode and you get the HB’s rich, high-output voice. Flip a DPDT mini-switch or push/pull pot and the pickup reconfigures itself electrically to sound like Joe Barden’s S-Deluxe single-coil. Paired with a middle pickup, that switched mode nails the classic “in-between” quack that Hum/Single/Single and Hum/Single/Hum players chase — no coil-split thinness, no added hum, no switching pop. It’s the tonal flexibility of a Strat pickup living inside a humbucker-shaped shell.
- Available voiced for neck or bridge position
- Drops into standard humbucker routs — no body modifications needed
- Wired with 6-conductor shielded cable for full switching flexibility
- Ships with wiring diagrams and mounting hardware for a straightforward install

If you’ve been running series/parallel or split-coil wiring hoping to fake a single-coil sound out of a humbucker, this is the upgrade that actually delivers the real thing — twice.
