Description
Seymour Duncan’s Antiquity P90 set is aimed squarely at players chasing the growl of a late-’50s gold top or ES-330 without gutting an actual vintage guitar. Pull the black soapbar covers and you’ll find the same hand-fabricated bobbins, wire, and “flatback” tape used in the originals — this isn’t a reissue built to a spec sheet, it’s built to the same process. Each pickup uses two Dun-Aged Alnico II magnets specially calibrated and paired with a precision metal spacer that channels the magnetic field through six fillister head pole pieces straight to the strings. The result is that woody, slightly compressed, authoritative P90 voice — bark on the bridge, warmth on the neck.
- Neck: 8.10K DC resistance, 6.85 henries inductance, Q 2.84
- Bridge: 8.52K DC resistance, 7.41 henries inductance, Q 2.84
- South magnet polarity, calibrated pair, 2-bar-magnet pattern
- Mounted to body (no height-adjustment screws), black soapbar covers
- Dun-Aged Alnico II magnets on a precision metal spacer
To get you gigging the moment the pickups are wired in, this set is bundled with a set of Ernie Ball EB2220 Power Slinky strings, so you’re not stuck breaking in old strings on brand-new vintage-voiced pickups. Whether you’re restoring a P90-loaded classic or converting a humbucker guitar to soap-bar tone, this pairing covers the electronics and the strings in one order.
