Description
Dimebag Darrell didn’t want a pickup that just screamed—he wanted one that could growl, crunch, and still stay musical when he dug in hard. That’s the whole idea behind this signature set: a Dimebucker in the bridge paired with a Seymour Duncan ’59 in the neck, exactly how Dime ran it.
The Dimebucker is built around a ceramic bar magnet and dual stainless steel blades instead of traditional pole pieces, which is a big part of why it hits so hard without turning brittle. Pick attack comes through with real bite, the mids are scooped out of the way, and the low end stays tight and controlled rather than boomy. Dime himself described the tone as saturated but not fuzzy—crunchy and smooth at once, with enough extra gain on tap to push an amp into breakup without losing definition. Think classic Pantera rhythm tone: low end that lands like a gut punch, top end that cuts through cleanly.
In the neck, the ’59 Bridge model brings the balance—warmer, rounder, and vintage-voiced, giving his leads extra clarity and teeth without clashing with the aggression up front.
