Description
Jason Becker doesn’t play safe, and this pickup doesn’t either. The Perpetual Burn Humbucker packs an Alnico 5 bar magnet under a hotter-than-vintage wind, landing at 12.11k DC resistance — enough muscle for full-tilt shred and metal, but with the touch sensitivity to still breathe on rock, blues, and fusion passages. It’s the kind of pickup that lets fast legato and aggressive picking come through clean, not smeared.
This is a bridge-only design, so think about what you’re pairing it with. Drop it in front of a hot neck humbucker for a modern, high-gain setup with consistent energy across positions, or balance it with a lower-output neck pickup (or even a hum-sing-sing layout) if you want more tonal range between rhythm and lead duties.
Jason’s own guitar is a dual-humbucker alder-body instrument with a maple cap and maple neck, but you don’t need his exact setup to feel the difference. Any guitar rocking a bridge humbucker will get a serious upgrade in clarity, dynamics, and top-end bite from this pickup — whether you’re chasing his signature tone or just want a bridge humbucker that can keep up with a demanding right hand.
