Description
Ever wished you could drop true humbucker character into a Strat neck route without reaching for a router? That’s exactly what the JB Jr pulls off. It’s built as a twin-coil rails design, sized to slot right into single-coil real estate, but voiced with the same DNA as Seymour Duncan’s legendary JB humbucker.
Sitting in the neck/middle position, this pickup is tuned for versatility — think heavy blues one minute, heavy metal the next. The adjustable pole pieces are a key detail here: they let the pickup track your strings’ magnetic field more like a full-size humbucker would, so you can dial in string-to-string balance rather than settling for whatever the factory setup gave you.
Tonally, expect articulate harmonics and a high end that stays sweet rather than harsh. If you’ve played a Hot Rails and found it a bit much on output, the JB Jr backs things off while opening up more treble presence — a friendlier, more dynamic alternative for players who want humbucker push without losing single-coil sparkle.
