Description
The SH-11 Custom Custom takes the familiar SH-5 Duncan Custom recipe and swaps in an Alnico II magnet, softening the attack while keeping the output high. The result is a bridge humbucker that trades some of the SH-5’s aggressive top end for smoother, rounder highs, a thicker midrange push, and a bottom end that feels a touch looser and more compressed – great for players who want vintage-style character without giving up modern gain.
Because it’s still built on the Custom platform, the SH-11 keeps plenty of drive on tap, making it equally at home carving out chunky rhythm tones or pushing an amp into singing lead territory. It covers a lot of ground stylistically, from twangy country runs and blues bends to pop rhythm parts, classic rock crunch, and heavier riffing where you need clarity without ice-pick harshness.
This one is finished in reverse zebra bobbins for players who want the classic humbucker look flipped, and it ships with four-conductor hookup wire, so you’ve got the flexibility to wire in coil-splitting, phase, or series/parallel switching if your setup allows for it.
Seymour Duncan designed the SH-11 specifically for the bridge position, and it’s a natural partner for a Pearly Gates in the neck if you’re chasing that warm, bluesy P.A.F.-style pairing across the whole guitar.
