Description
Born in the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop for George Lynch, the SH-12 Screamin’ Demon takes the wide-open voice of a ’59-style PAF and turns up the aggression. Moderate output keeps things dynamic and touch-sensitive, while the added growl gives you a snarl that a stock PAF just doesn’t have. Think classic rock riffing, jazz-rock fusion runs, heavy rock crunch, and instrumental shred – this pickup covers that whole territory without ever sounding brittle.
What sets the SH-12 apart under the hood is its unusual pole piece setup: one row of allen screws paired with one row of standard slotted screws. That asymmetry isn’t just cosmetic – it’s part of what gives the pickup its distinctive “airy” quality, opening up the top end while the bottom stays percussive and defined. You get treble that cuts through a mix but never turns harsh or ice-picky, plus a low end with real punch behind it.
- Moderate output PAF-style humbucker with added growl
- Designed for George Lynch in the Seymour Duncan Custom Shop
- Mixed allen/slotted pole piece rows for an airy, open voice
- Four-conductor hookup cable included
- Recommended for the bridge position
- Pairs well with a moderate output neck pickup like the SH-1 ’59 for full PAF-style tone
If you’re chasing that vintage-meets-vicious bridge tone – big, percussive, and just nasty enough – the Screamin’ Demon in White finishes the job.
