Description
Long before this pickup had a catalog number, Seymour Duncan was hand-rewinding PAFs in London for a young guitarist chasing a bigger, angrier sound. That pickup ended up in a Les Paul, got cranked through a Marshall stack, and became the blueprint everyone’s still chasing. The SH-18 Whole Lotta Humbucker is Seymour’s own recreation of that formula, and this listing is the neck unit in black.
Rough cast Alnico 5 bar magnets and plain enamel wire, wound with Seymour’s own pattern, give this pickup its signature push. At 8.20k DC resistance, the neck version is beefy without losing definition — the rough cast magnets add a rounded warmth while still keeping each note distinct, so chords don’t turn to mush at volume. Drive an amp with it and you’ll notice a subtle natural compression and extra sustain creeping into your playing, rather than a sharp, brittle edge.
Wired with 4-conductor cable, it’s ready for push/pull pots or mini-switches if you want coil-splitting or phase options down the line. Pair it with the matching SH-18 bridge for the full
