Description
This bundle puts two of Seymour Duncan’s most trusted humbuckers together in one box, both finished in black and both wired with four-conductor cable so you’ve got full access to coil-splitting and phase tricks down the line.
- SH-2N Jazz Model (Neck): A moderate-output humbucker known for its clear, articulate voice and smooth sustain. It’s got a touch less output and more detailed treble than Seymour’s SH-1 ’59 Model, which is exactly why it stays articulate on fast runs and doesn’t get muddy under distortion. Randy Rhoads ran this pickup in the neck, and it’s flattering across genres, not just tucked into one style.
- SH-5 Duncan Custom (Bridge): Think of it as a P.A.F. that’s been hitting the gym — a ceramic magnet and custom coil design deliver compressed dynamics, punchy low end, and an aggressive midrange bite that cuts through a mix. It handles dropped tunings without turning to mush, making it a go-to for hard rock, metal, punk, funk, and R&B.
Duncan himself has favored pairing a Jazz neck with an SH-5 or SH-4 JB in the bridge for a set that covers clean articulation and high-gain aggression from the same guitar. This particular combo leans toward balanced, warm-sounding instruments and plays especially nicely with rosewood fingerboards.
As a bonus, this listing includes a free set of Ernie Ball EB2220 Power Slinky strings, so you can restring and rewire in the same afternoon.
