Description
The SH-55N N4c is Seymour Duncan’s neck-position tribute to the very first PAF humbuckers, co-designed with the man who invented the pickup in the first place, Seth Lover. This isn’t a modernized reinterpretation — it’s a component-for-component recreation of the 1955 original, right down to details most manufacturers skip entirely.
- Nickel silver cover with long-legged nickel silver baseplate
- Butyrate plastic bobbins
- Plain enamel magnet wire
- Alnico 2 bar magnet
- Wooden spacer and black paper tape construction
- 4-conductor wiring for coil-split/phase flexibility
- Left unpotted, exactly like the vintage units it’s based on
Skipping the wax pot isn’t an oversight — it’s the whole point. That untreated coil lets in a touch of microphonic
