Description
The Seymour Duncan SJM-2 set pairs an SJM-2n neck pickup with the SJM-2b “Hot” bridge pickup, giving your Jazzmaster more muscle without changing its visual identity. From the outside, they’re dead ringers for the Vintage-spec SJM-1 pickups, but Seymour Duncan reworked the coil winding underneath to deliver noticeably higher output, a broader tonal window, and longer sustain than the pickups that typically ship stock in a Jazzmaster.
- SJM-2n neck pickup
- SJM-2b “Hot” bridge pickup
- Direct drop-in replacement — no routing or modification needed
- Wiring diagram and mounting hardware included
Because these are built to the same footprint and mounting scheme as the originals, installation is a straightforward swap: no soldering surprises, no carving out the pickup cavity, just pull the old ones and drop these in using the included hardware and diagram. That hotter wind opens up the Jazzmaster’s notoriously bright, jangly voice into something with more low-mid push and grit when you dig in, while still keeping that offset chime intact when you back off.
This bundle also throws in a set of Ernie Ball Power Slinky strings, so you can restring at the same time you rewire — fresh strings and hotter pickups working together to make sure your Jazzmaster sounds as good as it possibly can right out of the gate.
