Description
Seymour Duncan’s Triple Shot rethinks the humdrum mounting ring as a tone-shaping tool. Built in black with a flat bottom to suit most flat-top guitars, it hides a pair of mini toggles right in the ring itself, so you get three distinct pickup voicings without carving new switch cavities into your body.
Wiring is straightforward: solder your 4-conductor humbucker’s leads to the small color-coded circuit board tucked inside the ring, mount it up, and you’re set. From there, the two switches handle the rest:
- Push both switches toward each other for standard series wiring – full humbucker output and warmth.
- Push both away from each other for parallel wiring – a thinner, brighter, more single-coil-adjacent voice.
- Push both toward one coil (doesn’t matter which) to kill that coil entirely for a true single-coil split.
Because the switching lives in the ring rather than on your pickguard or control plate, you can add this kind of versatility to a guitar that never had room for extra switches, or keep a vintage-style control layout clean while still expanding your tonal options. It’s a favorite for players who want series humbucker snarl, parallel jangle, and coil-split spank all on tap from the same set of pickups.
Works with most 4-conductor humbuckers. Sold as a set, finished in black.
