Description
Developed alongside hard-rock tone architect Doug Aldrich, this bridge humbucker was built to cut through dense, high-gain mixes without turning into mush. Suhr voiced it hot enough for saturated leads and chunky rhythm work, but kept the string separation and pick-attack definition that lesser high-output humbuckers sacrifice. It’s equally happy snarling through a cranked amp or cleaning up for tighter rock rhythm tones.
- DC Resistance: 17.5K ohms
- 4-conductor wiring for coil-split/phase flexibility
- Zebra bobbin finish
- Fender-style trem spacing (53mm) — a 50mm Gibson-spaced version is also offered
- Pairs with the Aldrich neck humbucker, which is calibrated to match this pickup’s output and tonal balance for a cohesive set
Every Suhr pickup traces back to the company’s obsession with the best vintage humbucker and single-coil tones ever recorded, then refined with modern winding precision. Suhr Guitars has been hand-built by JS Technologies Inc. since 1997, co-founded by John Suhr and Steve Smith, and the brand’s client roster spans Scott Henderson, Guthrie Govan, Reb Beach, Kirk Fletcher, and Doug Aldrich himself — players who demand both technical precision and real emotional tone from their gear.
ProAudioLand was named Suhr’s 2015 Electronics Dealer of the Year, so you’re getting these pickups from a shop the company itself recognizes for expertise in their line.
