Description
John Suhr and rock guitarist Doug Aldrich set out to build a neck humbucker that could keep pace with an aggressive, high-output bridge pickup without turning to mush — and this is the result. It’s the highest-output neck humbucker in the Suhr lineup, but it never sacrifices clarity to get there.
Where a lot of hot neck pickups collapse into a woolly blur under gain, the Aldrich neck stays warm and articulate. Chords ring with real separation between strings, single notes stay focused, and the low end holds its shape instead of turning into rumble. It’s calibrated specifically for the neck position, so you get the smooth, vocal quality players want from a neck pickup — without the mud.
Paired with the Aldrich bridge humbucker, this pickup completes a set built for players who dig into their strings hard and need every note to translate, from thick rhythm riffing to soaring leads. On its own, it’s just as capable of delivering rich, dynamic tone that responds to your picking attack rather than flattening it.
Finished with a raw nickel cover for classic looks that’ll age naturally over time.
