Description
The SSV is Suhr’s answer to players chasing that honking, snarling vintage humbucker tone without the compressed, choked-off feel so many high-output bridge pickups fall into. It’s the more aggressive sibling to the DSV — where the DSV leans smooth on top, the SSV pushes back with more bite and attitude, making it a natural fit for bridge position work where you want pick attack to cut through rather than get smoothed over.
Behind the sound is three decades of John Suhr’s pickup R&D, so the wide dynamic range and touch sensitivity you’d expect from a great vintage-style bucker are all there — just with more push in the upper mids for rock and blues players who dig in hard.
- 53mm pole spacing — built for Fender-style humbucker routs
- Black bobbin covers
- Bridge position DC resistance: approximately 9K ohms
- 4-conductor wiring for full coil-splitting and phase flexibility
This SSV is also offered in white and zebra bobbin finishes, plus chrome or gold metal covers, if black isn’t your look. Wire it straight in for classic humbucker snarl with real vintage breathing room, or wire it up for coil-splitting duty using the 4-conductor lead.
